Why am I so Tired?
You have to wonder how long this bit has been going around, considering the stated population of the U.S.! But I at least updated the very last part....
Why am I so tired? For a couple of years, I've been blaming it on iron poor blood, lack of vitamins, dieting and a dozen other maladies. Now I found out the real reason.
I'm tired because I'm overworked.
The population of this country is 314 million. But 62.5 million are retired, and 24.5 million are disabled. That leaves 227 million to do the work.
There are 45 million children in school, and 41 million 18+ in various levels of college and technical schools, which leaves 141 million to do the work.
Of this, there are 3 million employed by the federal government, 6 million employed by state governments, and 16 million employed by local governments. This leaves 106 million to do the work.
There are 2 million in the U.S. Armed Forces, which leaves 104 million to do the work.
At ane one moment, there is half a million people in the hospital, and 12.5 million taking sick leave, which leaves 91 million to do the work.
There are also 3 million in jail or prison, leaving 88 million to do the work.
Meanwhile, 21 million moms (and 3 million fathers) choose not to work so that they're "stay at home" parents, and that leaves 67 million to do the work.
And of those, on any given day, 24 million are taking vacation days, leaving 43 million to do the work.
Yet the Bureau of Labor Statistics says there are 131 million jobs in the U.S., meaning we all have to hold down 3 jobs to get all the work done.
And you? Well, you're part of the half of all people surfing the Internet for jokes, leaving the rest of us to work!
No wonder I'm so tired!
