He Owns You

Take a look at this real newspaper front page from Friday:

Front page of the Greensboro News & Record
Close-up of headline
Do you see it?

You have to look carefully to notice the just-above-the-fold headline on the right:

Buffet media buys paper the headline reports.

It's not like they don't know the name of their new owner, billionaire investor Warren Buffett (with two t's) — after all, they got it right in the subhead.

So I guess what they're really saying is, "Dear Boss: we need a bigger personnel budget so we can hire back one or two of the copy editors we laid off."

The News & Record is the same newspaper which used a gigantic front-page photo to embarrass a local school district for its own gigantic typo back in 2010.

Editors, edit thyself!
