He Must Be So Proud
This is a real photo of a sign outside a public school in North Carolina.
When Michael J Smith won the spelling bee, Carmel Middle School in Charlotte, N.C., put this on their outdoor sign for all to see:

For the visually impaired, the sign shows the wall at Carmel Middle School, whose sign, complete with bright backlighting, expresses the school's pride in his accomplishment:
CONGRATULATONS [sic] TO
MICHEAL [sic] J SMITH
CARMEL'S SPELLING BEE CHAMP
If only the educators could spell half as well as those they seek to enlighten.
(The local newspaper -- the Charlotte Observer -- didn't do a whole lot better when they sneered, "A sign at Carmel Middle school, honoring spelling bee contestant Michael Smith, misspells both his name (Michael) and and [sic] 'congratulations.'")
